I bought these (knowing they are maybe not the most durable) to maximize closet space and prevent clothes from sliding off hangers. I still give this product 5 stars because they met my expectations, again, expecting them to not be durable.
As far as maximizing space goes, and preventing clothes from sliding, definitely what I was looking for. They are literally half the size of my plastic Walmart hangers.
Not only does the velvet help clothes from sliding, but there are deep grooves perfect for spaghetti straps or the tiny straps in dresses for the purpose of hanging them up. The velvet actually grips more than I expected, you kind of have to tug clothes around to get them to sit how you want. I won't be using these for my husband's shirts because he goes through them so fast, there's no point fighting with a hanger for them to hang up for maybe a week. Also, the hanger seems quite wide which may also be why they seem a bit difficult to use with the t-shirts.
Durability is as expected. Nothing arrived broken like some people experienced, none have broken yet. I really don't trust the 10 pound limit, or to just use the bottom bar (hanging pants). At least I can use these for most of my clothes, so that frees up lots of space, and I can continue using plastic for my husband's shirts and our hoodies.
I would recommend these to anyone who needs to hang up lots of tank tops, dresses, or cardigans.
