The faceplate is fine, but it should definitely come with the screw required to hold it on the doorbell. We just got a new Doorbell 3 and it did not come with a faceplate screw either. I think the doorbell 3 screw was just missing, and the faceplate sold here probably assumed I would reused the screw from the doorbell - but since that didn't come with a screw, I guess I'm just screwed, and had to find my own screw. I did have one that fit, but it's not a tamper resistant one, like I think may have been included with the doorbell (I surmise this because the doorbell came with a screwdriver that had a tamper-resistant head, but there were no such screws in the installation package).
Works great for creating motion zones and alerts. Sometimes there a lag in the alert to phone notifications. However the most important issue happening with all ring recordings lately is black video recordings. In other words, all motion events are not showing up. Just a black video with no picture or sound. Nothing. So basically your house or whatever could be robbed and if you are lucky to get the black video recordings you have nothing to go on. Resetting the cable router has worked to temporarily resolve that ... but only a matter of time before it starts up again. Ring really needs to fix this issue and or let everyone know what to do to stop this issue. Good luck
The paint on the replacement faceplate has a really rough texture to it, unlike the original two that came with the ring doorbell 3. I don't really like that because it seems like it will get much dirtier that way (being outside with pollen and dust.) Oh well, at least it's the color I wanted.
