I’m not a huge fan of this book. The rhyming is awkward and forced in lots of places. The use of the foods ‘bubblegum’ and ‘pizza pie’ are not things a young, British child would know about. I also didn’t really like the part that said that animals taste good - bit weird. Overall, wouldn’t recommend.
My grandchildren are vegan. The oldest of them is 2 1/2 , loves to read books and goes to school with other children who are not vegan. This book explains in a delightful way why the family chooses the vegan lifestyle by drawing on children’s love of animals. The drawings are adorable and they add to the sweetness of the messages. A “must have” book for children who are either vegetarian or vegan.
Using captivating and endearing rhymes and pictures, "We Don't Eat Animals" provides a judgement free explanation for young kids to process the guiding principles and moral reasons behind the vegan lifestyle. I highly recommend it for all families!
A well illustrated book that is gentle in describing that some people eat animals. Explains our choice to be kind to animals, not eat them, and to offer that same kindness to people who still choose animals as food.
