This book puts OUTCOMES not output as the definition of success. To do this, we need the full engagement and collaboration of all teams to ensure continuous learning and feedback. When technology and solution developers REALLY discover and understand with the business what success is will be when success is achievable. Until then it's just lots of wasted effort and frustration with minimal chance to create lasting value. Having worked in managed care for 35+ years I have seen lots of effort put into delivering solutions, but also lots of waste as the arduous work resulted in no business value. It's time to change, and this book supplies comprehensive and solid guidance on ways to do that. Each context is different and so each this must be used appropriately given what challenges you have and where people realize that things can and should be better.

Most lean-agile practitioners will have a go to set of books they call upon. These books will have no doubt been influential not only in their own journey, but also be a regular recommendation they make to others going through a similar learning and/or upskilling experience. This is the most comprehensive and up to date source of information on organizational transformation that I've come across and I've read almost all them. What makes this book stand out - focused not on specific buzz works but on actual outcomes and delivery of value. Each section contains examples of what works and what doesn't work. This is the book you want your leadership to read when they decide they need to be "more agile". This might show them that being Agile isn't the goal at all - it's the benefits that come from embracing the principles that matter. If you aren't looking at the outcomes, more than likely all you'll end up just changing is the names of your meetings.

The book helped me put together the framework of better value sooner safer happier. It (indirectly) helped me piece together years of learning about Lean, TOC, agile, gamification, flow into just BVSSH.

Why else would i want to have all those knowlege? I just wanted to create BETTER VALUE, SOONER, SAFER, AND HAPPIER.
