Bought this to replace my old Xbox 360 controller that stopped working. This controller works great, no connection issues, no input lag, no issues with any of my games. Simply the best controller for Windows 10 gaming.
I received this maybe 10 minutes ago. I haven't tried connecting to my PC just yet but hoping it works. Will update later for connectivity.
The box looked like it had been opened before. The seal was loosely put on, the box was ripped near one of the folds and the box was overall beaten up. With that said, it doesn't look like it was used for long as it is a white controller and there are no noticeable stains from use. However, there was something on the right thumbstick, noticed quite a bit of dust on the d-pad. When opening the box, you can tell the items inside were previously looked through.
Now you're probably reading this thinking, well if the controller works then what's the big deal? Well, I am about principle. If I had selected the "buy used for: $**" then I'd rate it 5 stars. However, I was under the impression the item I was buying would be factory sealed new.
If you to make sure that it is 100% brand new, I would recommend buying somewhere else other than Amazon. It would be easier to just pick one up at your local Wal-mart, Best Buy, Costco or Target.
Compared to Nintendo or Sony, Microsoft probably has the worse type of packaging for their controllers. My box came all squished up and torn, but I've never had this issue with controllers from other brands.
The controller itself works fine. The shock blue is quite a nice color, but the right analog thumbstick's blue plastic looks quite cheap. The ergonomics of the controller is good, which is one of the reason why Microsoft never changed the design even after so many years. In terms of build quality though, the DS5 is miles better. For the price of the controller, it really should have came with a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery as well.
I bought this to replace my wired XBOX 360 controller. This controller can't stay connected in games on a Windows 10 PC using a standard bluetooth adapter - upon googling this seems to be a firmware issue that MS hasn't addressed for years and the only wireless solution is to buy the official xbox adapter which costs almost as much as the controller (on sale).
That being said I still give it 3* because the controller works well in wired mode (using a USB C cable) and is overall a quality controller which feels much better than the 360 controller I upgraded from. Buttons all feel more premium like I would expect from a controller in this price point.
Controller is decent it's smaller they didn't really improved more like tweaked some buttons however the d-pad is worse I bought it to play mk11 on my PC the inputs are sometimes off like pressing forward will input down forward other than that it's got nothing on the PlayStation dual sense controller but I forgot this is Microsoft they don't really improve their products.
I wish I would have known that the rechargeable batteries don’t work with it. I have 3 different charging stations and none work (none are brand name Xbox). I’m wondering if Xbox is changing the remotes so you have to buy their charging station. ???
This redesign makes a controller that was already smaller than the previous Xbox 360 controller even more uncomfortable for extended periods. The only good thing is that the texture on it makes it grippier, but I'm going to have to add grips to save my hands. I wear a men's medium glove.
My biggest hope is that it is more reliable than the previous Xbox One controllers. After owning 2 Xbox 360 controllers over a 10 span, I went through 5 X One controllers in 2 years. Same problem on all of them, joystick creep and bumpers stopped working.
This headset has superior bass and sound output, along with a great microphone.
The main issue for me, is that the headset is uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time , plus the annoyance that if powered on it will power on Xbox everytime, when trying to use it with another bluetooth device.
That is why I bought a wired headset, not to mention no more need to recharge batteries.
The tracker for shipping was having issues so I contacted support, was told to just wait. Only to find out through support again that I was refunded one day then charged again literally DAYS later without me knowing. So now I'm in the negatives of my bank account because of this controller and I just can't stand to even look at it because of this.
I can never give the Xbox One controller more than 3 stars, because it is almost perfect erogonmically, but the damn things one stop breaking. The shoulders break, the joystick buttons break, and the all start to drift eventually. The one I'm replacing now only lasted about 8 months before the drift started. Unacceptable.
