To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The illustrations were glorious! Each turn yielded a breathtaking artistic view. Each page symbolized and extended the pattern of the text. Colours used were bold ,vibrant and full page spread. Then there was the text....pattern, rhythm, lyrical....this was a magical and memorable picture book which truly is and would be enchanting for all ages. The ending brought tears from the wonderful intermesh of the illustration and text. A rare response as a devotee and still collector of the beauty and richness of picture books....ordered 2 copies- 1 for our artistic grand and 1 for me..This book now sits in my living room as an invite to others to peruse....❤️
This is an absolutely stunning book. It’s beautiful and a delight to read to children. It explains the planet started with a Big Bang and introduces concepts such as we are all made up of water from the water cycle and carbon from leaves, but it does it in a poetic awe inspiring way. I truly love this book as do my children.
I don't normally do day of reviews but this deserves it. I'd been looking at this book since I was 2-3 months pregnant and finally got it now that my baby girl is 7 months old. It was so worth it. I got it right around her nap time and decided why not try to read it to her. She normally doesn't like it when we read to her cause she doesn't want to go to sleep or doesn't seem to find the pages engaging. For the first time ever my daughter curled up under my arm and paid attention. Only squirmed to get a better view. She loved the bright colors and I loved that it was non religious and shared a story of how she is part of something so amazing. I can't wait to read it to her again.
Really, there are no words to describe how incredible this book is. I get tears every time I read it. Nothing I could write in this review would come close to the magnificence of the book itself, so do yourself a favor and just read it.
I bought this book for my granddaughter for her 6th birthday because she has shown so much interest in the stars, planets, the moon. When she opened it I told her that this book would tell her how the stars were formed and how the earth was made. She hugged the book and exclaimed, "I always wanted to know that.!" She read the book herself, touched the illustrations, expressed how beautiful they are. At the end she said, "now I know!!" Ran to tell her parents, and started with the speck that started it all. (Which I told her is God - to get her through anyone telling her it is all just a theory.) This book is not just for children. It should be rated E. Not for EASY but for EVERYONE. its simplicity and beauty will spark a vision of the connectivity in the universe right into our hearts,
What an amazing book, we initially got it from the library, then after reading it, we knew this was one of those books your kids keep forever. It’s so magical in its description of the beginning of the universe, that you can’t put it down. The twins fell asleep, but I had to keep reading. Our girls are 4.5, which is maybe a little young, 6 or 7 is probably more in the ballpark, but it all goes in the vault, and like I said, they’ll probably have this book forever.
