Very warm but the pockets are awkward

Was looking for a less bulky coat to wear in the car and to and from stores (Manitoba winters, am I right?!). The coat is great, maybe a little too warm for anything in the single digit negatives. Also the pockets are the worst! They’re kidney shaped so my keys and phone are constantly getting stuck. They’re also really small so stuff is always falling out. About a week after I purchased I noticed holes had appeared in the pockets and I had to sew it back together.

It's an okay basic jacket -- The length is nice and it's fairly warm.

I purchased a small and am able to fit a light sweater underneath. There is lots of room in stomach & hips but if you have a large chest it may be tight. It is also weirdly small in the forearms and I wish the sleeves were slightly longer. The hood does seem to be on the smaller side which makes it sit awkwardly but it fits over my head fine.

I haven't noticed any issues with the zipper catching and only a few loose threads. I did however have to spend a bit of time fixing one of the buttons on the side because it wasn't riveted properly. The cinch cord on the inside is useless because the plastic toggle doesn't stay in place but I wasn't expecting a flattering fit from a puffer jacket anyway.

This is a warm and good quality coat for the price. Highly recommend this coat. It runs slightly large so if in between sizes, size down one. I am often between a medium and large in coats and I ordered the medium. It fits perfectly. I liked the coat so much, that I ordered the black and the cheetah print.

Larger than I expected

Pros - coat is warm, stylish and not overly heavy. Cons - zipper grabs the material as you try to zip it up and it jams, so you can’t slide it up or down without a struggle. I solved this by leaving it zipped up about halfway, then step into the coat. Not ideal, but it works. Also - I have found the Amazon Essential line to be reliable in terms of sizing for the most part. I am 5’ 2”, 140 lbs, 40C and always order a L which fits me fine. In this case, I found the L to be quite roomy which is good because I can wear a heavy layer underneath when needed but on its own, it was a bit too large for me. The last con is that the colour selection is very limited. I’ll keep the L but am considering order a M as well. Canadian winters require us to have many options!
