A good detective story from an author new to me. DI Kidd back to work after illness, gets clobbered with with a gruesome copycat murder. His DS Zoe Sanchez keeps him in inline, the rest of the team catching up ! Kidd makes mistakes. Has he been off work too long ? The case is involved, previous cases are linked. A good story, I liked it ! Fifth star is missing because of one of my dislikes ---the word, "gotten", five or six times. surely this is an Americanism. I don't remember it in my English !!

This book came up on my recommendations so I thought I would give it a chance as I love a good crime thriller. I was not disappointed. It is a fantastic book with a great plot to keep you guessing and a fascinating lead character. I'm pleased know there will be more in the series because I want to learn more about DI Kidd. I do like to try and work out who did it but I was kept guessing right to the end. I will definitely be recommending this to others.
