I appreciate this information being reprinted, and the commentary. The physical book itself bears a resemblance to a Farmer's Almanac, which I also appreciate. Pet peeve is that I wish authors would utilize real person proof readers more. I have a tendency to write in books to correct spelling errors and grammar errors, which leaves them marked up. Initially I was hesitant to purchase this book because I was concerned that it would be modernized to appeal to a New Age audience, or personalized in the context of the author's own practices and beliefs. Fortunately, the anthropological integrity of the original material appears to be intact. Which is all I want in adding it to my own library. Forewords and biographies aside.

As someone who comes from a line of Appilachian Conjure men and women but their practice was hidden away, I am happy to see more of this path being brought to light and recorded so I may follow in my ancestors footsteps. It is very Christian in nature so those who aren't believers may not enjoy this book but Jake Richards is my ultimate go to when it comes to this path.

I'm a huge fan, I own books and conjure cards. I pre-ordered this and waited with excitement BUT it fell short...very short.
If you want to find folk remedies for situations that plaqued folks a hundred years ago, this MIGHT be the book. I just couldn't appreciate it, effort wasn't there. Remedies aside...the stories or lack thereof were not pulling me in and I just gave up
