Every single one of us have the brilliant opportunity each day to be a giant in the eyes of those we associate with. Will you be that giant today and forever more? I pledge to be a giant and keep the promises I have made to myself, my family, and the organization for which I work.
Loved the honesty in the book, the integrity done with humour and sensitivity. John is sn amazing orator and writer and his experience and knowledge really help you to learn about yourself on the journey of self improvement and to be an inspirational conscientious leader
I run a boutique consultancy where we help business leaders prepare for the future of work. For some time I've been thinking there needs to be a new blueprint for leaders - a re-evaluation of the skills and attributes required to successfully lead in the 21st century.
I feel like this book was published just in time. It's a brilliant evaluation of how to leverage the perspectives and inputs of EVERYONE for better commercial results. And it succinctly spells out the case for moral courage - right now, when we've never needed it more.
What a great book. Recommended to me by someone I admire and I would love to recommend to others. I tend to avoid leadership books because they so often feel hollow but John Amaechi’s voice is authentic and he challenges you to be better. I would love to work with leaders like him - let’s hope his insightful advice will inspire change.
When you find yourself wanting more from a book, you could mistake that feeling as one where said book fell short.... However, nothing could be further from the truth. The very fact that I wanted more, is testament to the desire of wanting to be the great leader this book inspires you to be. It will make a difference, it will remind and reward the desire to build a stronger team that feels valued, and it will help you grow into the type of leader we all aspire to be.
I’ve read many books on Leadership, all broadly familiar, slightly mundane, good habits of good Leaders… this book takes you an entirely different journey, humbling, engaging, honest… made me really reflect on myself as a person as well as a Leader. I can’t begin to write as eloquently as the author.. but it is a must read, you won’t be disappointed.
Leadership books are two a penny. There's an increasing body of work that looks at inclusion and the importance of diversity. But this is the first I've read that powerfully brings the two together, and combined with John's wonderful storytelling. Highly recommended.
Although advertised as a way to fill the leadership void, this book does so much more than that. John Amaechi uses his personal experiences as well as his highly recognised qualifications in psychology to gently guide the reader to not only being a better leader but also simply being a better person. Just fantastic.
