1.0 out of 5 starsToo Ideological

If you have LongTDS. Are full of wokeness. And generally enjoy talking about race and gender. Then this is the book for you! I had hoped for a deep insight into Herr Schwab and stakeholder capitalism and what it means for the world. An investigation into how WEF 'infiltrates' ( their description) into every elected govt in the world. Instead I got the same old hate and jealousy that one expects from the left journos....while they happily slurp up cash, baubles and trinkets from their masters at NYT & WAPO. Not much enlightenment. Sorry I actually paid for it. Sigh

1.0 out of 5 stars Typical woke reporting ignoring data that is not convenient to ideology

Does not examine the real reasons for Davosman. Blames everything on Ronald Reagan. Touts Biden and his ilk as heroes. Woke nonsense. The only part he got right is the Davos crowd is devouring the world. Omits the part that they are also trying to kill us.

You’ll find yourself getting progressively more angry and frustrated as you read, but the statistics and the evidence presented of the chasm between what is said and what the intent of major conglomerates actually intend, need to be known by every concerned citizen.

The super rich control the world and the future, which is not necessarily a good thing. Provides some potential solutions to this global predicament, with realistic assessment on likely good for any real change.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very focused or consistent
Reviewed in Canada on March 1, 2022
Too much is actually about racism and gender etc. with the assumption that woke arguements are the only valid arguments. In places it effectively places one Davos man against another ones interests. It is not remotely rigorous from a scientific point of view. Rambling and unnecessarily long.

Could have been good, and if your can cut through the crap, it might be, but there are better ways to learn than slogging through this enemy of conciseness.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read, could’ve been more.
Reviewed in Canada on March 25, 2022
I’m not a Trump fanatic by any stretch but I can’t help but see the clear bias against him that seems to start off most if not every chapter in this book. Interesting bits of information on Klaus Schwab and company could be considered garnish in a book that tries to serve up the former president. Davos man falls short using lazy talking points and makes heavy reference to doctored soundbites. I would’ve liked this book had it went in to depth on the subject of Davos man or had made any concrete points about Trump. It did neither, but I respect the author on the timing and securing the bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars Uneven outcomes for some can lead to poorer outcomes for all
Reviewed in Canada on July 29, 2022
While it is true that the super rich are not solely to be blamed for the economic inequality, it is beyond doubt that rich people can and should contribute more to the government coffers and thus enabling it to spend more on health, education, infrastructure and social programs. The above spending will lead to a higher economic growth in the long run compared to the “trickle down” economic approach and certainly a more balanced distribution of wealth. One can disagree with the positions taken by the author on ideological grounds but it will be difficult to deny the evidence he has presented to show how the rich people have influenced state policies and legislations for their benefits. Overall, an excellent book on the causes of economic inequality.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wakeup About Woke!
Reviewed in Canada on March 13, 2022

I've been researching the World Economic Forum for a documentary series and am really getting a wakeup about the Woke movement. Every citizen of the world should be aware of what's going on with Klaus Schwab's vision of "The New World Order" and how a select group of his elite are quickly shaping tomorrow. It's all about redistribution of wealth - more for them (the rich) and less for us. Author Peter S. Goodman does an outstanding exposure job in Davos Man: How the Billionaires Devoured the World.
