This journal is an excellent resource for anyone responsible for or involved in developing a winning Digital & Information Technology Strategy for their clients. Every book from Firmsconsulting is worth reading and this book offers a structured and systematic approach to developing an effective IT/Digital strategy that supports an organisations corporate strategy. Packed with tools and frameworks you can use on your own engagements I highly recommend this book to executives and anyone in senior IT/Digital leadership roles.
I have not encountered any book that has a better and simpler definition of digital strategy. We no longer have to confine ourselves into thinking that digitization can only happen in the final product. And by defining digital strategy appropriately, the possibilities are endless. A terrific insight indeed.
This book is a great guide to understand the critical tools and principles needed to successfully execute a digital strategy project, from developing a vision to running analyses and getting to the recommended strategy.
First, the principles, definitions and tools are laid out for the reader; second a guided example is provided to make concepts more tangible; finally, templates are provided so you can use them on your own projects.
I am a FCinsider (long-term member of FirmsConsulting). The more expertise/ knowledge you have either from your profession/ experience or being a FirmsConsulting member the more you will be able to draw insights from the material/ books/ journals provided.
The Digital& IT Strategy Journal is also a great journal, as it shows you the role of the IT&Digital in the overall strategy and takes you from identifying the role of the IT&Digital Strategy to how to develop a vision which is aligned to the overall company strategy, to developing and executing the IT strategy. It is very detailed journal containing visuals, templates and steps and I expect to review it on regular basis to identify more insights.
I bought the kindle version because that is what is available. Problem is I can't read it well. Not on the cloud reader, not on the app. I am on Windows. Can't zoom the page. Increasing font does nothing. I have tried every setting, no good. I am very disappointed in the quality of this. I can tell that the right topics have been covered. This review reflects my experience trying to consume what has been written
This is very apt, espetially as companies are navigating and finding their way to a new normal. The journal helps in manifesting a digital strategy, and what it takes to arrive at one - using tools, techniques, etc and also via cross-organization efforts and governence. And above all how this fits and enables a corporates startegy. A must as every comapny (in the new economy or old economy) is becoming a digital company
