Exactly as advertised, cute little very well written novella, little bit of supernatural, little bit of sweet love, characters could be more developed I guess but that's hard in the novella format, very enjoyable and I highly recommend :)
The only negative i can think of is the cover image, which is OK. (Beautiful cover images attract more readers, some of whom are difficult to satisfy. )
In Laney and Dasha, the story has two convincing protagonists that really work well together, and all the other characters are charming and I found them easy to relate to, evoking people I have known. I found myself wishing for a longer story, but realizing that that would have diluted the action too much. Making Laney have a vision impairment was a brilliant stroke. I have known people like Laney, stunningly handicapped, but stubbornly determined! A lot of thought has gone into this story, and leaves us hungry for more. (Having created such a delightful world, the temptation to squeeze out another story in it must be strong; give in once more!)
This is one of those super fluffy while still be adorably entertaining shifter fictions. The is a bit of action 3/4 of the way through, but a very sweet epilogue is a welcomed treat. The two mains living in the frozen tundra of Alaska- you just knew the environment would become a main character at some point and when it does, grab your blankets and some hot cocoa. I like a shifter/human mate pairing and enjoyed them discovering each other. Very sweet. Very short read, but worth it for the Kodak moments.
This story isn't typical of shifter romance, it's got some of the same elements but it's far softer and more pensive than most I've read. If you're a fan of the genre it's quite refreshing. I enjoyed it, and I really liked having a main character with a disability that doesn't just get fixed by her supernatural love interest.
Mar Delaney has created delightful characters in Laney and Dasha. Reading how Dasha's wolf immediately recognized Lahey as her mate was great, especially with Lahey not being afraid of Dasha in wolf form. It was also nice for Laney to fall in love at first sight with Dasha. This book is a fun read.
