I enjoy the original gatsby. I picked up this book because I read a 2 star review saying this retelling didn't stick to the themes of the book and the reasons it listed just made me want to read it more.

This didn't stick to the themes/plot of the original gatsby at all - and I loved it! Retellings can be as loose as they want! The writing was gorgeous, the themes were interesting and well done, the imagery was on point, the characters were lovely. the relationship between daisy and nick was my fave aspect. Happy endings all around, we love to see it!

A couple nitpicky complaints but nothing much - I think it'd work better as an adult book than a YA, and the gatsby/nick romance was a little thin imo. Still, a thoroughly enjoyable read! Go forth and experience it!

I’ve been looking forward to this book since it was announced and it didn’t disappoint. Great Gatsby was one of the few books I liked reading in high school and to see it remixed like this was incredible. It was still very much that book I originally enjoyed but was somehow made better.
