You think it’ll go one way, but it goes the other, and keeps you guessing until the VERY end. It has heat, action, comedy and as with all of J.T.’s books, extremely well written. Bravo!!! I loved it!!!

Very slow start… almost DNF. Then it got good and I loved the book up until right at the end. The ending was also a bit of a let down. Mixed reviews on it but loved “the loop” this book throws at you.

Disappointing

I finished reading “Midnight Valentine” before starting this book. While I loved the former because it was a beautifully written story, I struggled to find any enjoyment reading “Perfect Strangers.” I suppose I was initially drawn to this book because of the amazingly compelling cover. The story itself was difficult for me to enjoy. I could not relate to the main characters. I found the instant connection between Olivia and James contrived and their relationship did not feel genuine. There were some wonderful moments filled with humour and wonderful dialogue and then, a large section of the book that was devastatingly sad and depressing. It felt as if the author decided to jump from one boat to another, and the reader was swept up into a journey they did not intend to take. As a result, for me at least, the ending of the book was surreal and seemed like a cop out on the part of the author. I was really disappointed.

Horrible Plot Twist Ruined It For Me

It did not like this book. It started off slow and then got so good in the middle that I could barely put it down. I was really enjoying the evolving story, feeling happy that I hadn’t given up on it, when there was a plot twist I might go so far as to say I hated. I will give the author credit for creativity, but I must say her choice ruined the book for me. I couldn’t even fully read the last 10-15% of the book. I just skimmed it to see if the book could recover from the train wreck it had become. I don’t want to offer up any spoilers should anyone choose to read this book, so I will just say the epilogue made things slightly better. Still, I can’t recommend this book. It’s disappointing since I was so sure it was going to be great.

What was the point? I mean, I get it in the way it was supposed to be written, but what was the point of making it that way? I just want people to know in case youre looking for a HEA and thrive on the ecapism romance books give you- avoid this book, or stop when the lavendar fields are brought up because its just a heart ripper after that. Honestly, the book is written very well and absolutely LOVE this author, but I have never been so sadly disappointed by a book twist. The MMC isn't even a real guy?!?!?! What in the Hemingway tragedy play just happened?!?!?! I mean, I was totally entranced by this book and then my heart was completely ripped out about 85 percent of the way through and I did.not.recover.... just wish I would have known that this isn't the type of book for me. I assumed after reading the Queens and Monsters series this one was another like it, but definitely no lol. I do wish I had been warned.

The first two parts of this story were great, I really enjoyed the plot unfolding, was hooked and eager to know more about their darkness and their relationship, loved it. Then Part 3 came and I felt really confused and got a bit of whip lash with how fast the pilot twisted. I actually feel a bit betrayed by the author. Like it was all a joke taking us readers on that ride on purpose for her amusement. I’m a bit deflated about it now actually.
