I’ve read all of Nicholas Sparks novels that he has wrote loved them all. But this one wasn’t his best work in my opinion I was very disappointed with his choice of writing when it came time to Dreamland.

I have read several Nicholas Sparks books. This was undeniably one of the worst books I have ever read. I can’t believe I paid $15 for a book that I had to make myself finish. By the way I am 80 years old and have been an avid reader all my life.

I usually love John Grisham’s novels so pre-ordered this one without any hesitation. However this reads like he ran out of time and just submitted his outline without bothering to build out the plot. The ‘story’ is just a list of what happened without any attempt at all to develop the characters or their motivations. I kept reading, thinking that maybe he was outlining the background as a series of facts and the actual story would begin soon. But now I’m halfway through so I don’t think that’s going to happen. I’m going to stop here, so someone please let me know if the second half of the book suddenly becomes interesting.

This is one of the worst books I have ever read. Definitely the worst Sparks book. I've muddled through 260 pages and have decided life is way too short to waste my time on any more of this book. I'll think long and hard before buying another of Spark's books. I used to love his books, but if this is his new direction, I'll pass on any of his future books.

I’m from Tampa and because it was set here, I really wanted to like this book. But there wasn’t enough complexity to these characters. I was bored. But the hardest part was that I t took way too long to explain the connection between the 2 storylines, so it was confusing. I love Nicholas Sparks novels, but this one wasn’t for me.

If I could give this book negative stars, I would. What has happened to Nicholas Sparks? I’m a dedicated fan so I will always buy and read his books, but bring back the romance and the stories that give us butterflies. This book was inferior and the storyline was boring. If you want to get an education on how to be a farmer, then this book is for you. If you’re looking for a romance novel, buy a different book.

What a waste of time and money. I thought Nicholas Sparks would write something great during the pandemic (as other authors have done) but this may be his worst book ever. It didn't flow and was awkward most of the time. The ending seems rushed and predictable. The characters were unrelatable. I'm glad I've finished the book and can move on to something else. What happened to the Nicholas Sparks from years ago?!

This was not one of Sparks' best books. It was slow to get to anything interesting in the story and I found myself skimming over endless conversations between Colby and Morgan. I usually finish his books right away but not this one. It was a push to pick it up and read.
