I’ve read all of Nicholas Sparks novels that he has wrote loved them all. But this one wasn’t his best work in my opinion I was very disappointed with his choice of writing when it came time to Dreamland.

is something wrong with me i didnt like this book and it has great reviews lol i skipped so many pages , colbys part was legit meh then it took a turn at the very very end that was some what interesting - im so sad but it was such a hard pass

Thriller mixed with romance wasn’t my cup of tea!

Hmm this one just didn’t hit the mark for me… and I really just didn’t enjoy reading it.
That being said, it was an easy / straightforward read and I enjoyed Colby’s POV/ story but Beverly’s story gave me whiplash and I mostly felt anxious, confused and in general kind of yucky?! It hit too close to home for me based on personal experiences in my life, so perhaps I’m unfairly rating the book, but I just didn’t like it.

Also much of the book I felt like I was going back and forth between the movie Sleeping with the Enemy and a romantic happy summer fling movie.

You might enjoy this if you like trying to puzzle how two wildly different stories fit together and if you like a bit of thriller with a side of romance.

I guess I have to go against the grain here also. Although I truly enjoyed the romance between Colby and Morgan, I found Beverly's story very long winded and frankly boring. To me, her story did not ring true from the beginning. In this day and age, women and children who are in an abusive situation can find help and sanctuary, so why was she running away and hiding? It just didn't make sense to me. Even the explanation at the end was a little over the top.
I think had the book just been about Colby and Morgan, I would have liked it much more.

I love everything Nicolas Sparks writes, have read every book and pre-ordered this one and unfortunately it was a disappointment. I knew right away the 2 stories were linked somehow but to not get into why until the very end of the book made this boring. 2 stars for the love story but 90% of the book was all inner monologue and monotonous meaningless details that barely contributed to the storyline. Because it was Nicolas Sparks I had to finish it and will still preorder everything but this was a flop.

I have read every book Nicholas Sparks has written and enjoyed them. I struggled to finish this one
and have to admit I did not guess the ending which gave the book some substance. For more than
three quarters of the book I speed read as I felt it was like a high school love story. So happy this was
not my first book I read from this author or it would have been the last.

I’m a huge Sparks fan but this was not his best work. The storyline was bizarre, disconnected and unbelievable. The epilogue seemed like something his editor/publisher wrote to try and save face for fans after the dark and depressing storylines.

The first half of this book was pretty good. I kept thinking about how the 2 stories would come together. But in a disappointing turn of events that seemed stupid to me, the book lost its appeal. It’s like ok I’ll wrap everything up now. Not sure I will bother reading another one of his books. It’s like how Danielle Steele used to be a good author and then everything started following a predictable format. No thanks.
