Absolutely love it. I was looking to buy the Paperwhite version but when I learned about this newer version with 300ppi, and the fact that it's smaller, I knew I wanted this one.
I plan to use it in public transportation so that's also why I wanted the smallest size to be able to hold it better with one hand when it's busy. So far I've only been using it at home because I haven't finished the physical book I'm reading for my commute, but it's exactly what I expected. I watched many kindle reviews video and that was the one.
I don't need the waterproof that the Paperwhite has because I don't use it near water, and I don't really read in the dark so I don't use the backlight (which warm light would really be better). I read in lowlight once, but just turned on the dark mode to ease my eyes from the cold blue light.
The price difference with the Paperwhite is not a lot so I didn't buy the basic version because it's cheaper, I honestly bought it for it's smaller size.
I knew they were sale almost monthly, so I waited less than I month after I made my decision to purchase, and saw a "Prime member only" sale last week. $95CAD instead of $130CAD. (And we don't have the option, but it's automatically without ads in Canada).
When I bought it, the version with 3 months unlimited kindle was not available, but when you setup the device, you actually still have the free 3 months kindle unlimited. That's great!
Edit: I finally used it for my commute; that's a game changer! I have more space in my bag, it's lighter, and holding this rather than a physical book is way better than I thought!
