How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

2.0 out of 5 stars 2 pages into the book and you know how it's gonna end

The thing with most Indian writers these days is they seem to write so that their stories are made into movies. And why do female writers have to make their female protagonists lack so much self worth. Madhumita Bhattacharya's Reema Ray is a case in point. Anyway that's a different story altogether. Couple of pages into the book and you know how it will all pan out. The writing tries to be forcefully funny. But it gets irritating after a while. I mean how much of self depreciating lines will keep being funny. The lead girl keeps aging but her self worth ages backwards. The lead guy is meant to be suave and the silent, handsome type but lacks much of a personality. At the end of the book he says to the girl that it's been her from the moment he knows her. Cute??? Except that he was 18 then and she 8. Creepy right? The girl who isn't into academics suddenly decides to become a doc. Nothing surprising there but why Royal College of Medicine, London? Did all Indian medical colleges shut shop? No. Just so that London can be the back drop where the hero can meet with her alone, nurse her when she's sick, so that she can have an assortment of friends - sexy and advice spewing roomie with a love for alcohol - check, dishy gay guy - check, crazy guy with libido and amorous lines - check. You know the girl loves this guy but she has to be kept in her negative self worth character so she won't realize that she's in love with him. Her gauchiness and nerdiness are meant to be cute and adorable, but some point you feel like slapping her silly and hope she will reboot when she wakes up. Now you know where you've seen all this (literally) drama play out. Right... Bollywood. Need I say more?
