I purchased & had book #9 sent to my granddaughter to read, as she has been reading this book series. She was absolutely thrilled to receive & so enjoys this series. Hopefully more will be written by the author.

3,5 stars because i feel deceived. In book 9, we have very little Keefe and when finally he shows up, it's a very fast read. We have almost no time to enjoy Sophie and Keefe's scenes together. Yes we have chapter 42, but as a huge SOPHIE- KEEFE fan, i'm upset bc i had to "deal" ( very patiently 😖) with Sophie and Fitz scenes in previous books and i had to wait NINE books to finally have SOPHIE and KEEFE together and it's too little, too fast. The ending and Vespera's death??!! As usual, after NINE books, our heroes are not able to defeat any enemy; Vespera is killed by an enemy herself. I did not see any change from the previous books seriously. In the first 500 and something pages we have lots and lots of dialogue and everything seems to be the same, Keefe's powers could have been used to something in this book but we saw Nothing at all. And book 10 will be the last? I hope not, because it will feel even more rushed. It's impossible to have a conclusion of this complex history and characters in only ONE book. Not to mention SOPHIE and Keefe: i want to see them as a couple, a REAL COUPLE in more than one book and with no more Fitz drama btw them, bc we had enough. I want to see the heroes to win and defeating their enemies by themselves. Elysian is a villain or a good guy??? I hope to be the last, bc this story has already too many villains, very hard to kill -apparently like cockroaches- We don't need another one impossible to kill by our heroes. From book 8.5 to book 9, i was expecting an amazing book and this book seemed - except for the little we had btw SOPHIE and KEEFE - another filler book. Sorry, but i want more, much more than this and i know that you can do it, SM. Less dialogue, more romance/scenes btw SOPHIE and KEEFE, please, bc they are favorites 😉

Great new chapter in the Lost Cities. Got hooked on this when I checked out the first book from the library for the kids. A sweet and interesting fantasy series that slowly unfolds a mystery that has had me hooked for years. Will DEFINITELY be buying the next ones she publishes.

I absolutely love, love, love this series. But I’ll admit this was my least favorite book I will agree with other reviews that while reading the book, it felt…wrong. Like the story was just too rushed. I feel like it needed more to it nothing really happened it was mostly just Sophie’s boy drama through the whole thing. Kind of disappointing but I still totally recommend the rest of the series. Love Shannon Messangers books 💙

Oh my, it was an absolute joy to read Stellarlune. Packed full with buckets of emotions: one minute I was crying, the other minute spluttering with laughter (thanks to Ro!). And in between, biting my nails with suspense, and of course, feeling TONS of cringe and second hand embarrassment for our lovely, oblivious Foster as she ploughs through very relatable, very familiar teen drama. Initially the pace of the story was kinda slow, but once it picked up speed, I didn’t want to put it down! I’m a fan of the dialogues, the chemistry between the characters, and how smoothly they’ve evolved through the series…it all makes feel so alive and real. Which is why Sophie and her gang will forever hold a special place in my memories. Overall excellent delivery once again. Excited to see what comes next!

Since this is book 9 of a series, I figured I would stick with a short, sweet, and spoiler-free review.

Basically, I love this series because of the characters. And I really feel like you can see how much the characters have grown in this book. Sophie is so much more proactive and mature, something I appreciated. She's stepping into her role as a leader, and I am HERE FOR IT.

This isn't a knock against the book, because I really liked it, but it did feel like Stellarlune was just getting us ready for the final installment. We dealt with some character conflicts and wrapped up some long-running mysteries. Now we're ready for the end of the series, which I'm sure will be full of huge reveals and massive twists. And I can't wait!

All my other thoughts contain spoilers. So I'll end this review with a solid "I loved this book!" and leave it at that.

Too much drama

In comparison to the books before, Stellarlune is slightly faster but still slow. I get that it is a group of teenagers, but it is a drama overload. I loved, however, Sophie's new attitude and courage to confess to Fitz and leave him behind. (TEAM FOSTER-KEEFE all the way!!) Shannon has amazing creativity, but the series it taking too long and needs to be wrapped up. We don't need more cliffhangers but for the Neverseen to be destroyed.
