To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Se tem guia de viagem que você não erra é o da LONELY PLANET. Tudo bem que não tem o olhar brasileiro (ele é editado na inglaterra) nas viagens retratadas, mas as dicas estão lá pata todos os bolsos. Mapas, roteiros a pé, restaurantes, passeios s etc VALE A PENA
We've always heard good reviews on the Lonely Planet guides, that is why we decided to try one for our trip to Sicily. We compared the information reported on the guide with those provided by travel bloggers, and locals, and we can tell that the guide was always correct! Great suggestions and hints, both from the historical/monumental point of view and from the culinary side. Highly recommended, we'll definitely buy others for the next trips.
In this internet world focus of the guides is changing, gone is the minute detail needed by the serious traveler, gone is the local information. Are these now researched on the ground or from a desk and laptop. Very disappointed with this guide, a lot is covered but with limited detail, perhaps a sign of the times, travel has certainly changed.
Rick Steves' is better for summary and practical information. Of course the Blue Guide to Sicily is far better on the art treasures and history. We took both of those with us, and discarded Lonely Planet.
