To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I have already spent 6 months in total time in South America, l find it a fascinating Continent and very good value for traveling. This book is like a bible about this continent, with every detail you want to organise your own travel arrangements, which at 73 years of age l still do. Myself and my wife are going again early next year to Antarctica from Santiago, Chile ending 16 days later in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We are staying a extra 15 days, to further explore both these Capital Cities, particularly Santiago, where we haven’t spent much time before. I have arranged all accommodation using this books recommendations, while booking the cruise directly from Cruise Cheap based in Florida, USA, while in Antarctica, cruise doesn’t let you get off ship.
I got this because it was newly-published, and I'm travelling to Venezuela in the autumn. The coverage of Venezuela is essentially non-existent, just a few pages with very basic, superficial information. The book discourages travel to Venezuela other than through organised tours. The content for Venezuela is so inadequate that I could not encourage anyone to get this book if their sole/main purpose was a trip to Venezuela - though I imagine they'll be the minority. I haven't read the rest of the book, so I don't have any comment on its coverage of other countries.
