love the series and great to get the next part but kinda glad its wrapping up jim is becoming over powered seems like he can do most anything now and cannot really see a diffrence from when he has or has not unlocked a class .. wasnt bagalor a lvl 1 nothink in a cave before jim?....hard to see how defence against mind control isnt a common thing bashira used it on everyone,,,the crown always seemed like a macguffin but did liked that it payed of a little with some backstory on charles but how is the opinion of noble importent?....the only thing he couldnt do was heal fenris and thats just a skill grind away..the jarra thing is a little hard to sell, it was like a afternoon..honestly like the series but a big part of it is jim making mistakes and improvising solutions much harder to do now when he can get new level space from draining everything and god tier spells..without being a cleric?
This is NOT my typical read, but at the suggestion of my extended family, I gave it a chance. It had my laughing! It had me wiping away tears. It had me gasping from surprises. It had me rolling my eyes at the bad dad jokes. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because the author NEEDS a good copy editor. There are a ton of punctuation errors. I can’t hold that against the author, though. Bravo!! Can’t wait for book 8!
Lol so the misadventures continue we get some closure some more questions and a lot more jokes. What more could you want? Jim comes back as a proper wizard we get a few new things and characters are revealed.
The insanity continues in this enjoyable entry. The momentum is maintained and so is the humour. Several plot reveals and some closure. Jim's classes are completely broken and by broken I mean in the blue screen of death fashion. The demon is becoming attached to his Dumb Dumb and I'm beginning to like the character. It seems that the other demon may be up to something with the assistance of the admins. I also liked that the supporting characters got page time. The Elf subplot was something else. Looking forward to the next one.
I find the book to be almost as good as the previous installments, until about the halfway point where it's obvious the author stopped for a while due to family issues(that he mentioned in his website/bio). The latter half felt a lot more rushed and many mistakes were made to get the book out, like no proper editing and errors where people died and suddenly came back to life or characters died and were completely forgotten about like toomey, who has been a minor but integral character throughout the entire series. If Ryan has this book edited and fixed up to make better sense, I'd definitely read it again.
