This is a beautifully illustrated children’s book with lovely rhyming sentences.

We need more books like this for children!

Love is my superpower is about a young boy named Bowen who is learning about love. He has a new baby sister Bella, and is wondering if his mother loves her more than him. He learns about the love light that we all have and can give to others.

Bowen learns to be friends with a grumpy neighbor. He kisses his baby sister good night. He meets a deaf girl and signs a greeting to her making her day. He is spreading the love light to people around him and to the members of his family.

I love the heartwarming message in this book as we follow Bowen’s journey with his family and people he meets daily. We can all spread the love light! The heart at the end of the book was a nice touch with different places to write or draw about the things that you love!

This book is dedicated to a real boy named Bowen and there is a website to visit at the end of the book if you’d like.

I’ve read several of Alicia Ortego’s superpower books and they’re all not only cute, but they teach a lesson.

Bowen has a baby sister and worries that his parents won’t be able to love both of them, but his mom says that isn’t going to be a problem. She explains that we can love many people at the same time. He learns we all have a love light that we share with others, such as him making friends with his grumpy neighbor, kissing his baby sister goodnight, and many other things that continue to spread his love light to friends and family. He realizes that sharing love and making others feel better makes us feel good.

Love is my Superpower has a good story, it has great illustrations, and it’s told in rhymes. It explains how we can love more than one person and that our hearts are big enough to love many people. It also teaches about sharing our love and making others feel better. There is even a heart at the end of the book for children to list who and what they love.
