Continuing to give Greek Myths a modern twist, this tale features Aphrodite/Anastasia.
Five years into her stint as Aphrodite and Anastasia is under pressure to boost ratings for the matchmaking Golden Apple Dating Show. To help along matters, she is forced to be a show participant and reluctantly accepts Helena as her matchmaker. Anastasia knows all about matchmaking having worked in that department while in training to be Aphrodite. There's a hitch however, she wants to be loved but not as Aphrodite. With her best friend Atticus/Eros as the dating show host it should go smoothly. Maybe. There are three potential matches but no chemistry.
I liked the banter between the leads and supporting characters. The little family tidbits, work gossip and descriptions of that special restaurant perfect for privacy. What becomes evident with each interaction between matchmaker and goddess is the spark then growing ember. Smoldering until the kiss! It's about taking chances......Shucks, even Atticus's broken heart is mended. I'll stop at that and hint at an eventual HEA since I strongly believe in love!
This is another quick and enjoyable read and I look forward to the next tale about Dionysus/Calliope. It's lovely that each tale is stand-alone.
