It's a diaper pail. Mine stays on the first floor bathroom, I've never noticed any smell coming from it as long as the clamp thing and lid is closed properly. It's easy to change, and it can hold quite a few diapers. Full disclosure, I use it for my senior cat's diapers, though, so maybe they're not as stinky as human baby diapers. Maybe. No clue. I like it. Mine's super pink.
